Apple has released version 6.0.4 of it’s Safari web browser.

The main and only reason for this update is to give you control over Java applet on a per-website basis.

When you visit a website which tries to run a Java applet, Safari will ask you to block or allow the applet accordingly. It results in Safari adding the hostname of the website being added to a list and you can manage this list of blocked/allowed websites for Java in Preferences > Security and clicking the “Manage Website Settings…” button next to “Allow Java”.

To upgrade your Safari browser to 6.0.4 you can do so using the App Store software in Mac OS X.
